A directory of audio and video shows about role-playing games and other games, all freely available on the Internet.

Who We Are

We're a group of podcasters who have at least one thing in common: We talk (at least a little) about roleplaying games. We might talk about what we're playing at our tables, about what's going on the industry, or about what we've learned that might help others improve their games. We might even talk about other things besides roleplaying games! Explore this site and find out more about our shows.

About the RPGPodcasts Awards

I. Mission Statement

The RPG Podcast Awards were created in order to recognize artistic achievement, technical proficiency, and overall excellence in both gaming podcasts and in the games that inspire such podcasts.

II. Organization

A. Organizers: A. David Pinilla and Lucias Meyer will serve as organizers of the awards. Their duties include appointing judges, choosing categories, publicizing the award, maintaining the website, presenting the awards, and any other organizational duty which does not fall under other participants. Any product they have directly worked on is not eligible for any awards.

B. Judges: A panel of five judges will be appointed by the Organizers every year. These judges need to have both a broad and deep familiarity with the roleplaying games industry and the ability to both form and express a detailed, written opinion. The identity of judges will be kept secret throughout the judging period. At the awards ceremony the judges will be revealed. Products created by judges may be nominated for the Awards, but any judge that has participated in creating said product may not vote for it.

III. Awards Structure

A. The RPG Podcasts Award consideration period runs from June 1st, 2011 until May 31st 2012. Any product released during this period may be under consideration.

B. Submissions are not required. Judges are expected to have a breadth of knowledge that they should bring nomination before the other judges. To better your chances of a judge nominating a product, companies may submit either physical or electronic copies to the Awards. Submitting a product does not guarantee a nomination. No products will be returned.

C. Judges will assemble a list of three finalists in each category. These finalists will be released on June 1st, 2012.

D. Judges will then vote on the winner of each category. Winners will be revealed at Gen Con 2012.

IV. Judging Duties

A. Judges are expected to be in frequent communication with each other and the Organizers throughout the consideration period.

B. Judges will nominate products throughout the eligibility period. Nominated products should be viewed in a shared list which all Judges and Organizers have access to.

C. Judges will write short reviews for at least the products they've nominated. Reviews will be published anonymously on the Awards website when the finalists are announced. Attribution for the reviews are not released until the awards are presented. Reviews need not be lengthy, but should address the good and bad qualities of the product.

D. Judges will vote to choose three finalists in each category by May 15th, 2012.

E. From the finalists, the Judges will choose a winner in each category by June 15th, 2012.

F. The method of selection is up to the Judges. In case of a situation where the Judges cannot agree on a method, the Organizers will choose one.
